About Us

What happens to all the jewelry I Want What It's Worth buys?

After cleaning and restoration, our jewelry is auctioned to jewelry stores across the country. We work with a nation-wide network of trusted buyers to get the best possible price.

How do you determine what my jewelry is worth?

Our experts use data from thousands of past jewelry auctions, while accounting for gemology, jewelry market trends, and current material value. If your jewelry needs any restoration, we make our assessment on its post-restoration condition.

The evaluation and sale of each piece of jewelry is a constantly evolving process. Our main mission is, and will always be, to pay you the highest possible price.

Why don't I just walk into a jewelry store and sell my jewelry?

Because you won't get what it's worth. Jewelry stores have massive overhead costs and usually take months to sell their inventory. They pass those overhead costs down to you. Pawn shops are even worse—they'll often pay less than 20% of an items true value.

Do you accept customers from outside the United States?

Not at this time.

Where Is I Want What It's Worth located?

Our headquarters are located in the heart of New York City.

Can I visit your office?

We don't have any brick-and-mortar stores for you to visit at this time. As an internet-based business, we like to keep our overhead costs low and deliver high payouts to our customers.

Is selling to I Want What It's Worth safe?

Very. We are licensed by New York State as a jewelry reseller and have an A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau. We’ve also been featured in many publications, including The Next Web and JCK Magazine.

Our headquarters are in a vault and your shipping kit is insured up to $150,000. When we say your jewelry is safe—it’s safe! Lost or damaged items are extremely rare, but if there is a problem, we’ll make sure our insurance carrier gets you paid.

How long has I Want What It's Worth been in business?

Four years and going strong!
